Clear Cache for just One Website - Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, Brave, Arc & more

Bro, the other day I was tweaking my website design, feeling all creative, and bam – some components looked sus af on my other laptop. I was like “nah this can’t be real”. Cleared the full browser cache + Cloudflare purge, refreshed like a madman, still the same old broken CSS staring back at me. Turns out my regular visitors were probably seeing the janky version too, while I thought it was fixed. Massive facepalm moment.

Then I did the classic overkill move: nuked ALL browser data. Had to log back into every single site, 2FA hell, the works. Never again, yaar. So I’m dropping this guide so you don’t repeat my rookie mistake. We’re talking targeted cache clear for one website only, keep your logins, tabs, and vibes intact. Super useful for devs debugging sites, or when some random page breaks coz of stale cache.

Let’s get into it, platform by platform. Keeping it real simple.

Google Chrome (works on Mac/Windows too)

1. Open the dodgy website first.
2. Try the basics: Cmd + R (Mac) or Ctrl + R (Windows), spam that refresh a few times for a hard-ish reload.
3. Still sus? Right-click anywhere on the page → Inspect (or Cmd + Option + I on Mac, Ctrl + Shift + I / F12 on Windows).
4. Up top left, there’s the reload button. Long-press (hold click) that bad boy → pick “Empty Cache and Hard Reload”. Boom, fresh load, no full wipe needed. Easy peasy.

Firefox

1. This one’s lowkey the cleanest for single sites imo.
2. Open Firefox, hit the menu → History → Show All History.
3. Search bar at top, type the website domain.
4. Right-click the site in results → “Forget About This Site”.
5. It zaps cache, cookies, everything for that domain without touching the rest.

TIP

If it’s just one page, right-click that specific entry → Delete Page. Chef’s kiss.

Safari (Mac/iOS vibes)

1. Safari keeps it Apple-simple.
2. Safari menu → Preferences → Privacy tab.
3. Click “Manage Website Data”.
4. Search the site name in the box.
5. Select it → Remove. Done.

It clears cache + cookies for that one only. No drama.

Microsoft Edge

Edge is basically Chrome under the hood, so similar tricks work.

1. For the quick dev way: open the site, right-click → Inspect (Ctrl + Shift + I / F12).
2. Go to Application tab (if not visible, click the >>).
3. Under Storage/Cache or Site Data, you can clear for the current origin.
4. Or, for cookies/site data specifically: Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data → See all cookies and site data. Search the domain, trash what you need.
5. Hard reload trick from Chrome works here too (long-press reload in dev tools).

Brave

1. Brave gang rise up. Since it’s Chromium-based, the Chrome method slaps: dev tools → long-press reload → Empty Cache and Hard Reload.
2. Alternative: right-click page → Inspect → Application tab → Clear site data (right there for the current site). Super clean for devs.

Arc (the fancy new browser peeps love)

Arc’s got that premium feel but cache clear is sneaky.

1. For quick refresh ignoring cache: there’s often a “Clear cookies and refresh” or similar in the View menu (sometimes shows as Clear cache and refresh).
2. Dev tools way (Ctrl + Shift + I / F12) → same as Chrome/Brave, long-hold reload for empty cache hard reload.
3. If you’re deep in it, Settings (Ctrl +,) → check profiles/advanced for more, but usually the hard reload does the job without full wipe.

TIP

If you’re on a CDN like Cloudflare, purge that cache too after browser side, otherwise it might still serve old stuff. And always test in incognito/private mode to confirm it’s a cache issue.
